The Birth of Waxologist Beauty Lounge (formally Amor Beauty)

So I have decided to write my first blog ekkk how exciting, with so many topics to talk about I thought I would start with the birth of Waxologist Beauty Lounge (formally Amor Beauty) and how it all started. Let me start by telling you all a bit about myself. So I am Sadiah owner and manager of Waxologist Beauty Lounge formally Amor Beauty. I opened my salon Amor Beauty over 16 years ago now having been made redundant from my then IT job. IT I hear you all cry, yes I graduated with a Computer Information Systems Design degree worked in IT for several years and then got made redundant. I took a good hard look at my life and decided IT was not for me and that I wanted to do something different. I decided on beauty and retrained to become a beauty therapist. I worked at a salon for a short time and then one day decided you know what I can do this by myself, so the search began and I started looking at possible shops I could make into my own salon. After several months of looking I finally found a shop in Worcester Park in Surrey. I drove up several times and sat in my car opposite pondering whether this was the right thing to do and then thought if I don't try I will never know. I quickly dialled the agents number and made an offer. The next few days waiting were a killer but then I got the all important 'yes your offer has been accepted' and then the ball started rolling. I was all excited and scared at the same time. Over the next few months I began setting everything up, looking for builders, suppliers, speaking with the council getting the necessary licences etc and finally on 30th October 2006 I opened my doors to the public. I was so excited, nervous and scared all at the same time, what if it didn't work? What if I had no clients? What if people didn't like my business or like me? So many 'what ifs' but I pushed on and worked hard and it is the best thing I have ever done.

In 2022 I made the decision to relocate Amor Beauty to Pinner, having commuted from Worcester Park to Pinner for 13 of those 16 years, I decided that time was too precious to be sat in a car on the daily commute to and from work. It was a really difficult decision and one I didn't make lightly having built up a loyal client base in Worcester Park, many of my clients have been with me since the beginning and I didn't want to let anyone down, I have been reassured that many will follow me to my location and I am super grateful for that.

I am forever grateful to all my clients as without them I wouldn't have a business today. I made my dream a reality and it worked and so can you!

I am excited for my new chapter in 2023 with the launch of Waxologist Beauty Lounge and my new garden cabin salon and I look forward to welcoming you all. Sadiah x
